The Sith
The Sith began when a number of Jedi Knights defected to study the Dark Side of the Force. The members of the Sith clan believed that personal power was more important than anything else. The followers of the Sith soon began to train their own apprentices in the ways of the Dark Side. They formed small coups within the larger order in order to better teach the ways of the Sith. Each coup had a leader who had risen to power in his particular clan. The leader of the clan was given the title of Dark Lord of the Sith. There was only one Dark Lord in each clan at one time. Many Dark Lords were chosen for leadership by the higher Sith Lords and many of them had to defeat their opponets to secure the position. Often, the losers would resort to violent acts in attempt to seize the title and claim revenge. There were 12 Dark Lords of the Sith from the beginning of the cult to the death of Darth Vader. After the cult had reached about 50 members, the Sith Lords began to fight for control over the clans. There were many battles for the leadership of the clans and the rank of Dark Lord. In the end all of the Sith coups were wiped out for thousands of years. Only after a young Senator Palpatine began studying the Sith arts and declared himself Darth Sidious did the Sith return to the galaxy. To avoid the struggles for power in the original Sith clan, the clan now contained only two members, a master and an apprentice. Darth Sidious chose Darth Maul as his apprentice and Maul was a perfect Sith Warrior all the way up to his death. After Maul's death Sidious chose young Anakin Skywalker to be his new apprentice, easily seducing him into the ways of the Dark Side. Shortly after, the Sith return to battle in the Clone Wars where Darth Sidious and Anakin Skywalker (now Darth Vader) set out to kill all of the Jedi. To accomplish their goal, they use clone Jedi Knights as their warriors. Vader and Sidious almost succede in their goal as only Yoda and Obi-Wan are able to escape. Shortly after, Vader and Obi-Wan faught and Vader fell into a burning pit. Now only by wearing his black life-support armor was he able to survive. He and the-now Emperor Palpatine were the last of a long and prominent group of Dark Warriors, Darth Vader was the last Dark Lord of the Sith.

Marka Ragnos
Ragnos was the 9th Dark Lord of the Sith and he ruled the Sith Empire for over two centuries. He was so strong in the Force, that he was able to contact others through spirit. After his death, large disputes occured over who would be the heir to the throne. Many Sith Lords fought for the throne, but Ludo Kressh and Naga Shadow were the strongest competitors. They began a duel to the death in order to determine the righfull heir. After the fighting began, Ragnos' spirit appeared and told the combatants tales of their ancestors and the ancient ages. He told them of a great change in the future and warned them that if they continued their squabbles the entire Sith Empire would crumble. The he disapeared for many thousands of years. Years later, Ragnos appeared again years later and chose Exar Kun as the eleventh Dark Lord of the Sith and Ulic Qel-Droma as his apprentice. Much of Marka Ragnos' history was destroyed or hidden so his existense was unknown except by a select few.
Naga Sadow
Naga Sadow was competing for the title of Dark Lord of the Sith after the death of Marka Ragnos. He defeated his opponent, Ludo Kressh and went on to become the tenth Dark Lord of the Sith. Sadow was overthrown when, upon returning from the war, discovered the Ludo Kressh, thinking him dead, had declared himself the new Dark Lord of the Sith. Sadow was exiled and fled the wordl after being pursued Kressh's followers. During the battle, Sadow ordered one of his ships to ram Kressh's ship and Ludo was killed. Empress Teta attempted to trap Sadow with a battle fleet but he orded the Sith followers to attack their lords and Sadow escaped the trap. Sadow destroyed the double-star system of Denarii Nova on his escape route to Yavin 4. He used his Sith powers to warp his followers into the Massassi. Sadow used a powerfull Sith amulet to create hideous and dangerous creatures to guard him from intruders. Years later, Exar Kundefeated one of these creatures and stole Sadow's mysterious Sith amulet.
Ludo Kressh
Ludo Kressh was the Sith Lord challenging Naga Shadow for the title of Dark Lord of the Sith. When Sadow arrived late for Ragnos' funeral and declared himself the new Dark Lord of the Sith, Kressh was very angry. He challenged Sadow to a duel but they were interrupted by the spirit of Marka Ragnos. They ignored Ragnos' advice and fought until Sadow was declared the winner and the new Dark Lord of the Sith. Kressh waited patiently for his chance to tak over the throne and his chance came when Sadow went off to fight the Republic. When Sadow did not return, Kressh thought him dead and was declared the eleventh Dark Lord of the Sith. When Sadow returned, he was exiled by Kressh and their minions fought in a great battle. In the end, one of Sadow's ships rammed into Kressh's flagship and Kressh was killed.
Freedon Nadd
Freedon Nadd was one of the most powerfull Sith magicians in history. Nadd hoped one day to become a Dark Lord of the Sith but when it was clear that he would not be chosen, Nadd fled to the planet Onderon in search of a planet he could rule. Nadd used the planet as focus for Dark Side powers and many Force users were drawn there by his sorcery. Upon death, Nadd's body was mummified and placed on the moon of Dxun. After many centuries, Nadd's spirit rose from the grave to unite a rebellion of Dark Side users on Onderon. The rebellion was later quelled by the Jedi Knight Ulic Qel-Droma. For many years Nadd's spirit remained trapped on Dxun and waited for someone to free him. The Jedi Knight Exar Kun, led by Nadd's followers, discovered Freedon's spirit haunting the tombs. Nadd tried to use Kun to restore his power but Kun realized what Nadd's true plans were. Kun used the Sith amulet made by Naga Shadow to disentigrate Freedon Nadd's spirt, destroying him forever.
Exar Kun
Exar Kun was first a Jedi apprentice under the instruction of Master Vodo-Siosk Baas. Kun used his master's holocron to access information on the mysteries and legends of the Sith. Kun soon fully turned to the Dark Side and used his anger against his fellow students and his master. Exar fled his master to follow the teachings of Sith Lord Freedon Nadd after his first uprising had ended. Kun was led to Nadd's tomb by the Sith Lord's former followers and discovered Freedon's spirit haunting his crypt. With faulty promises of shared power, Nadd trapped Kun and severed all of his links to the Light Side of the Force forever. Kun then fled to the moon of Yavin 4 where Lord Naga Shadow was residing. However, Nadd had arrived on the moon first. Kun shunned away Nadd's help and the Dark Side and the warped-Sith Massassi captured Kun in an attempt to killl him. However, one of the Massassi creatures escaped and attacked Exar and Kun, using the Dark Side, stripped the creature of Sadow's powerfull Sith Amulet. Kun used the amulet to kill the creature and then Freedon Nadd after he tried to interfere. The Massassi were now loyal to him and he forced them to construct huge temples in honor of him and the Sith power. Upon hearing of a Sith imposter in the citadel of Empress Teta, Kun and a few of his Massassi followers traveled to the citadel with a mission to slay the imposter. The "imposter" was really Ulic Qel-Droma and the two warriors engaged in a vicious duel. The battle was evenly matched until the spirit of Marka Ragnos appeared and named Exar Kun as the twelth Dark Lord of the Sith and Qel-Droma was named as his apprentice in the hopes of a new Sith Empire. Kun considered himself, Qel-Droma and his Massassi warriors to be invulnerable so they began attacks on the Republic. Kun gained the trust and assistance of many old enemies and Sith followers as they united to strike a common enemy. Qel-Droma and Kun each led a portion of the troops and the following battles were known as the Sith War. On one occasion, Qel-Droma was captured by the Republic but Kun managed to storm the Republic stronghold and rescue his apprentice. He also attacked the Jedi fortress, killing his former master in the assualt. Kun's greatest failure was the trust he put in Ulic Qel-Droma. In a rage, Qel-Droma killed his brother and was stripped of his Force skills by the Jedi Knight Nomi Sunrider. In repentance, Qel-Droma led the Jedi to Kun's fortresses on the moon of Yavin 4. In the following attack, many of the Sith followers were killed and to prevent his own death Kun drained the life out of all his Massassi warriors to keep his soul alive, however trapped, within the walls of the temple. He remained there for 4,000 years until Luke Skywalker began his Jedi Academy on the moon. Kun attempted to seduce and kill some of Luke's students but the Dark Lord of the Sith's spirit was finally destroyed as the trainees united to defeat him. This marked the end of the Sith empire forever.
Ulic Qel-Droma
Ulic Qel-Droma began his study in the Force as a Jedi under the teaching of Master Arca Jeth on the planet Onderon. He served the Republic along side his brother, Cay Qel-Droma. Ulic was a warrior fighting in the Beast Wars on Onderon and was critical in preventing Freedon Nadd from regaining ultimate power. When his master was killed in a surprise attack by Sith magicians Satal and Aleema Keto from the Empress Teta System, Ulic vowed to avenge his master's death. Ignoring the advice of his peers, Qel-Droma fled to the Empress Teta system in an attempt to conquer the Dark Side. But Ulic was young and naive and he instead was educed by the Dark Side and fell under the control of the Sith influence. He was given a Sith Amulet by Aleema and then was confronted by Exar Kun. The two began a vigoruous duel until they were halted by the spirt of Marka Ragnos. Ragnos declared Kun as the new Dark Lord of the Sith and Qel-Droma his apprentice. The two Sith Lords fought side by side in the Sith Wars. At one point, Ulic was captured by the Republic but Kun rescued him before he could be tried for his crimes. In the end, Qel-Droma killed his own brother in rage and was stripped of his Force powers by Nomi Sunrider. In guilt, Ulic led the Jedi to Kun's fortress on Yavin 4, were the Sith Lord was finally defeated.
Darth Bane
Darth Bane's identity was not discovered until a short time ago and there is still no recovered photo record of the Sith Lord. Information on him is vague but some facts have been recovered. Darth Bane was a very intelligent and powerfull Dark Jedi who understood the value of traits like patience, cunning, stealth, and subterfuge. While the Sith Wars were waging strong, Bane waited in the shadows until the time was right to reveal himself. Soon the entire Sith order had been wiped out, due to the greed and power-hunger of the Sith Lords themselves and the Jedi who mopped up the surviviors. Then there was only one. Darth Bane took this time to come out of hiding and he declared himself the Dark Lord of the Sith of the new Sith Order. His goal was to keep the Sith alive and strong while the Jedi were oblivious to their existence. His order declared that there would be only two Sith at a time, the master and the apprentice. This ended the threat of a fate similar to the fall of the original Sith Empire so the Sith could now wait until the time was right to strike at the Jedi, their true enemies. This sustained the Sith for thousnads of years while the Jedi thought them to be extinct. Darth Bane's fate is unknown but his legacy still lives strong.
Darth Sidious (Palpatine)
Darth Sidious is the secret identity of Naboo Senator Palpatine. Palpatine studied the ancient Sith arts and religion while maintaining his role as a noble Seantor of the Old Republic. He secretly took a Zabrak named Khameir Sarin as his apprentice and trained him in the ways of the Sith. HIs apprentice then became known as Darth Maul. Palpatine was strong in the Force but in the tradition of the ancient Sith, he craved personal power above all else. He formed partnerships with the shadowy Neimodians of the Trade Federation and used their blockade of the planet Naboo to his benefit. As Palpatine he argued for justice and freedom for his home planet but as Darth Sidious he ordered the Trade Federation to attack the Naboo and capture the Queen. When Amidala escaped the blockade, Sidious sent his apprentcie Darth Maul to track her down. Maul barely failed his goal as the Queen and her Jedi protectors fled to Coruscant. There, Palpatine convinced the Queen that the current Supreme Chancellor, Valorum, was weak and that new leadership was needed. He used his position as a Naboo senator to attract sympathy and support and he was soon nominated to succede Valorum. He was quickly elected just as the Queen and her Jedi bodyguards returned to Naboo where the Trade Federation viceroy, Nute Gunray, was captured and Darth Maul was killed in a duel with the Jedi. Palpatine was now in need of a new apprentice. He quickly found the young Anakin Skywalker, powerfull in the Force and yet still young, naive and succeptable to the powers of the Dark Side. While Anakin became a hero of the Clone Wars under Obi-Wan Kenobi's inexperienced trainin, Sidious was secretly influening Skywalker in the powers and teachings of the Sith. Shortly after, Palpatine declared himself Emperor of the galaxy and disbanded the Republic. He formed his New Order and enticed Anakin Skywalker promises of becoming commander of the new Imperial Fleet. Skywalker betrayed everyone he knew to join the Emperor and become the Sith Lord Darth Vader. The two Sith Lords hunted down the Jedi until all but Kenobi and Yoda remained. The now Emperor Palpatine had massive fleets constructed with millions of fighters, Star Destroyers and assualt transports. He built a cloning facility on the planet Byss along with two Death Stars. Palpatine had millions of Imperials loyal to him and his new order including Vader, millions of troopers and officers, he had a special detachment of Royal Guards, other dark apprentices, and his own personal assassin, Mara Jade, known as the Emperor's Hand. Palpatine still yearned for more power. Palpatine ordered Vader to bring his son, Luke Skywalker, before him so they could sway him to the Dark Side. Vader instead revealed his identity to Luke as his father and Luke escaped, losing only his right hand and his lightsaber in the battle with Vader. However, Vader succeded in capturing Luke on Endor and the young Jedi was brought to the Emperor's throne room on the second Death Star. He enticed Luke with his mind influence and the Jedi once again dueled with his father. Luke almost gave in to the Dark Side but after chopping off Vader's hand, renounced evil forever. The Emperor attacked Luke with powerfull Dark Side lightning, but just before his on was about to die, Vader betrayed his master and tossed his body into the Death Star's core. After his supposed death, many of Palpatine's clones appeared from the world of Byss. His mind was emplanted into the clone and Palpatine waged war against the newly formed New Republic. At one point he succeded in turning Luke to the Dark Side but the Jedi betrayed him, destroying Palpatine's flagship and killing the cloned Emperor. No one knew how many clones Palpatine had made of himself, but as long as he is able to keep his soul from dying through the minds of his clones, Darth Sidious may well live on into eternity.
Darth Maul
Darth Maul was born as Khameir Sarin, a Zabrakian, on the planet of Iridonia. He showed great strength, power and a strong ability with the Force. When Darth Sidious was searching for an apprentice, he discovered Sarin at the age of 12 living on his home planet Iridonia. Sidious began to train him in the ways and traditions of the ancient Sith. Sarin showed great progress and soon he was declared a Dark Lord of the Sith by his master. He took the alias Darth Maul and had his face tatooed in fearsome designs of red and black. The horns, that were trademark of his species, added greatly to his fearsome appearence. On the side, he also studied martial arts intensely so he could obtain his dream of becoming the best fighter in Sith history. As he improved his fighting skill he learned how to fight with a lightsaber after he made his own. He was a very close follower of Sith traditions but he also wanted more power. He soon built a deadly double-sided lightsaber and incorporated it int his mastered fighting skills. He soon learned to wield the double-saber with deadly accuracy and Darth Sidious was very proud of his apprentice. Maul was entirely loyal to his master, never hesitating to take on any mission assigned to him. That is why Sidious entrusted him with the mission of tracking down the runaway Queen Amidala. Maul's first public appearence was to the Trade Federation viceroy Nute Gunray and his advisor Rune Haako. His menacing appearence brought fear into the Federation's viceroy and he remained ever loyal to Sidious after that day. When the Neimodians failed to capture the Queen and kill the Jedi, Sidious sent his apprentice to track down their escaped ship. He followed the ship to Tatooine where he landed his Sith Infiltrator starfighter and released three "Dark Eye" probe droids to track down the Jedi. After the droids had reported in to Maul, the Sith Lord climbed on his Sith Speeder and flew off toward the deserts. He swooped down upon Qui-Gon Jinn and the two began a deadly lightsaber duel. Jinn was outgunned and Maul took advantage of his greater skill. The Jedi was rescued only by the fleeing ship as it lifted off. Maul was angry at his failure and reported back to Lord Sidious. His master sent him to Naboo to track down the Jedi and Maul confronted Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Theed Palace Hangar. Darth Maul finally revealed himself and his double-sided lightsaber to the Jedi and he prepared to have his revenge. Although outnumbered in the duel, Maul was definately not outgunned. He used his great strength and skill to give him the edge against the Jedi. He lured them into the power room with many catwalks and bridges. Maul amnaged to kick Kenobi off the ledge and the Jedi fell managing only to catch onto the ledge. Qui-Gon used Maul's destraction to push the Sith Lord over the bridge. Maul landed on his back a few levels above Kenobi and he continued the duel with Qui-Gon untill the reached a series of laser-trapped doors. Qui-Gon was caught between the third and fourth doors, Maul was caught between the fourth and fifth doors and Kenobi, rushing tocatch up, was caught behind the first. Qui-Gon meditated while Maul glared at him with a demonic grin. When the doors opened Qui-Gon and Maul rushed into a small room with a deep pit in the center. Kenobi rushed to catch up but he was trapped behind the last door as it closed again. Qui-Gon fought with new energy but he was soon worn out again. Maul used this to his advantage as he bashed the Jedi in the face with his lightsbaer handle. While Qui-Gon was knocked off balance, Maul spun around and stabbed Jinn in the stomach with his lightsaber blade. Kenobi yelled in agony as he watched his master fall to the ground. The doors opened and Kenobi rushed out to challenge Maul. Kenobi used his anger to give him an advantage and he chopped Maul's lightsaber in two. Darth Maul discarded the smaller half of his weapon and contnued the battle using the blades other half like a normal lightsaber. He knocked the Jedi off balance and he tumbled into the pit. He managed to grab hold to a ledge as Maul kicked his lightsaber off into the abyss. He showered the hanging Jedi with sparks cut by his lightsaber, smiling in his victory. Suddenly, Kenobi leaped out of the pit and grabbed Qui-Gon's lightsaber in the air. He landed and used his surpirse to attack Maul. He sliced the Sith Lord in half and the two pieces of Maul fell into the pit. This marked the end of the fearsome Darth Maul and his proud legacy of Sith combat.

Darth Vader was born as Anakin Skywalker, the son of Shmi Skywalker. He and his mother were slaves who were sold to Gardulla the Hutt on Tatooine when Anakin was three. Gardulla lost her two slaves to the Toydarian Watto while betting on the Podraces, so Anakin and his mother where then forced to work in Watto's shop. Anakin competed in the Podraces on Watto's behalf, and discovered that he had a spectacular gift. Not only was he the first and only human who could race the Podracers, but he was able to predict things before they happened and had incredibly quick reflexes. He was secretly building his own Podracer and protocal droid, C3-PO. His whole life changed when Qui-Gon Jinn, Padme and Jar Jar came to Watto's shop one day. Anakin fell in love with Padme and he offered the group shelter for the night. To help Qui-Gon raise the money to fix his ship, Anakin offered to race his Podracer in the Boonta Race. Qui-Gon spoke to Anakin's mother and she told him that Anakin had no father and Qui-Gon suspected that Anakin had been conceived entirely by midi-chlorians. After Anakin won the Boonta Eve race, Qui-Gon was convinced that he was the Chosen One. However when Qui-Gon took Anakin to the Jedi Council on Coruscant, they forbid him to be trained as a Jedi. Anakin was upset but he returned to Naboo with the Jedi and the Queen, since he had no place else to go. He played a critical role in the battle, when he inadvertantly triggered the auto-pilot of the Naboo Starfighter he was hiding in. He then was forced to land inside the Trade Federaion Battleship's hangar bay, where he accidently fired a proton torpedo at the main reactor, destroying the ship. After Qui-Gon Jinn's death at the hands of Darth Mal, the council agreed to let Obi-Wan Kenobi train Anakin. Events following these events will not be totally revealed untill the release of Episode II but some info is available. It is told that, since Obi-Wan was inexperienced, Anakin was very much open to anger and aggression. These traits were quickly noticed by Darth Sidious, who began using Dark Side tricks to influence the boy. As Anakin fell deeper and deeper into the lure of the Dark Side, Obi-Wan finally began to understand what was happening to his young Padawan. By the time he decided to confront Anakin, it was too late and Skywalker had already given in to his anger. The two began a vigorous lightsaber duel and Anakin fell into a molten pit. When he emereged from the pit, all the good that was Anakin Skywalker was burned away (or was it?) and Darth Vader was all that remained. After the birth of Anakin's children, Luke and Leia, Obi-Wan placed Leia in the care of his friend Bail Organa on Alderaan while he took Luke to his brother Owen on Tatooine. Meanwhile, Darth Vader, together with now Emperor Palpatine, began sweeping the galaxy in what is now called "The Great Jedi Purge"(MORE VADER INFO COMING SOON)
